Walking Guide

Take Subway Line 8 and get off at Jinfishu Hutong Station. Exit at C and turn right when you reach the ground level. Follow Dong'anmen Street/Donghuamen Street straight ahead. Continue straight at all crossroads until you reach the East Huamen Gate of the Forbidden City. Note that you can only exit here. Take a left at the gate, and there will be no more forks in the road. Just follow the flow of tourists. When you reach the end of the road, you'll see Quezuomen on your right. Walk through it, and the Wumen (Meridian Gate), the only entrance to the Forbidden City, will be on your right. Queue up for security, scan your ID, and you'll be ready to enter the Forbidden City.
